MANAGEMENT
Russell Mohberg, CFP®, Principal, Portfolio Manager
Russell founded Regatta Capital Group after managing an Edward Jones office in Pacific Palisades, CA from 2001 – 2007. Russell holds the Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP®), as well as a designation in Personal Financial Planning from UCLA and an M.B.A. in Finance from Pepperdine University. Prior to business school he worked as a medical product designer after earning a B.S. in Industrial Design through the nationally renowned program at Cal State Long Beach. He combines his engineering and design skills with his passion for people and investing in developing comprehensive financial plans and superior portfolios. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Partners in Malawi and on the Alumni Council for the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University. Russell lives in Palos Verdes Estates with his wife, Laura, and son, Evan.
Spencer Kelly, CFP®, Principal, Financial Advisor
Spencer founded Regatta Capital Group after managing an Edward Jones office in Westchester, CA from 2003 – 2008. He joined the Leadership Team within two years and was consistently recognized in the top 5% of the firm for his superior customer satisfaction. Spencer was featured in the January 2011 edition of Los Angeles Magazine as a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager in Los Angeles which is an elite group, representing less than 2% of wealth managers in the Los Angeles area. Spencer grew up in the Adirondacks in upstate New York and graduated with a B.S. in Finance from the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management at Boston College. His love for problem solving and his passion for helping people reach their goals has lead him into his career as a financial advisor. Outside of the office, he contributes to his community as a Westchester YMCA board member and Manhattan Beach Coordinating Council supporter. Spencer lives in Santa Monica and spends his free time traveling, playing soccer, paddle tennis, skiing, running and hiking.

Theresa Malazarte, Registered Client Service Associate
Theresa joined Regatta Capital Group as a Registered Client Service Associate in 2009. She began her career in the financial services industry in 1995 and worked directly with high net worth clients while at Smith Barney and Wachovia for over 10 years. In addition to her extensive experience and exceptional customer service, she holds a Series 7, Series 63 and insurance license.
Grace Yu
Grace joined Regatta Capital Group as a Research Analyst in 2010. She has passed the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA®) exam, as well as the Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) exam. She holds her M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from Pepperdine University and her Master’s degree in engineering from the South China University of Technology.
